It’s tax season again! Which means that it’s time to start looking for your beach vacation spot. A common question that I get asked is, “Which beach is best for me?” The answer is always the same – another question. What do you like to do? South Walton is packed with tons of great stuff to do. With miles of great beach, you can easily relax under a shady umbrella by day and around a crackling beach bonfire by night. And, you can fill your day with lots of other great stuff too! Below is a break down of the first few beaches moving west from Destin further into South Walton and 30-A.
Miramar Beach
With tons of beachfront accommodations and dining, Miramar Beach is definitely one to consider. Home to the nation’s largest designer outlet shopping mall, Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Miramar Beach offers tons of activities such as dolphin tours, jet skiing, and of course parasailing! Then afterwards, it’s only a short distance to some delicious seafood at Pompano Joe’s. (Check our Pomp’s blog post here!) Plus, we can provide great beach service to your rental property in many locations including Amalfi Coast and Norwood Street beach accesses. Miramar Beach has nearly limitless options for a spectacular vacation. Maybe this is your answer to, “Which beach is best for me?”
Dune Allen
Dune Allen is the beginning of the thirty mile scenic slice of heaven known as 30-A. With a number of great beach accesses such as Dune Allen and Ed Walline, this quaint beach community boasts excellent restaurants, shopping and quick access to Destin. Most folks tend to gravitate this direction as they try to avoid Destin traffic. For outdoor enthusiasts you have two great parks: Point Washington and Topsail Preserve. Point Washington has miles of single track and walking trails. Top local eateries include Stinky’s Fish Camp, Shunk Gulley, Local Catch and Basmati’s Asian Cuisine (try the firecracker grouper!). All offer great local sourced seafood and great atmosphere. Perhaps Dune Allen solves, “Which beach is best for me?”
Blue Mountain Beach
The last beach on our journey from Destin through South Walton in search of “which beach is best for me”: Blue Mountain Beach. Highway 83 carves a path through the Long Leaf trail straight to the white sandy beaches of this hidden gem. The Blue Mountain Beach access is close to bike shops, health food stores, yoga studios and more. Plus, you can take the kids to get ice cream at the iconic Blue Mountain Creamery only one block from the beach.
We hope that whatever beach answers your question of, “which beach is best for me” that you keep our number handy. We provide a great beach chair rental and an even better bonfire service. We would be happy to serve you.
